As an effort to fight violence against women, the Royal Norwegian Embassy has supported the nongovernmental organisation Women in Need (WIN) for a number of years, and is currently WIN's main donor. The Embassy entered into an agreement with WIN to support the project "Eliminating Violence Against Women in Sri Lanka through a comprehensive intervention" in June 2014. The project has a duration of two years and a total budget of NOK 2.04 million.
