Welcome to Norad's new website!

Martha Haukaas, communications director, Norad

With the new norad.no we aim to help our partners and other stakeholders with an interest in international aid and global development issues to find the information they need.

Norad's new website is new from the ground up and takes several measures to create a modern and user-friendly platform. The new norad.no has a clearer structure and boasts new and updated content and is based on universal design. It is designed to provide solid and updated information on the Norwegian development aid, and help efficiency for users as well as Norad itself by making it easier for collaboration partners and grant recipients to find the correct and up-to-date information that they need in their work.

– In the swarm of information we live in, it is important to have facts and channels you can trust, says Norad communications director, Martha Haukaas. The website of a professional directorate such as Norad should contribute to an open and enlightened public conversation by ensuring accessible and reliable information about aid and development. Norad.no should convey knowledge and results of Norwegian aid in an understandable and efficient way.

The new norad.no aims to improve information for partners as well as employees.

– Recently, Norad has been entrusted with a broader mandate including new tasks and increased responsibilities. In 2023, Norad was given responsibility for the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine, and in August 2024, Norad took responsibility for Norwegian humanitarian aid. Naturally, our website must also reflect this greater scope.

– The new Norad.no has also implemented Norad's new visual profile, which has been developed with particular regard to better communication in digital channels, says web editor Dagfinn Fjelddalen. – Nearly half of our around 500,000 annual visitors to norad.no some from outside of Norway, and we see that the pages announcing grants and project funding are the most visited. As a result, improving the English-language section and English partner content has also been a priority.

– The new websites should make it easier for users to find the information they need most. Our partners and grant recipients will now find what they need under the section "For Partners"; from announcements of new grants to guides, regulations as well as relevant news stories and events.

Visitors searching for general aid information will find Norad's core themes in the new “Thematic areas” section.

If you are looking to apply for a job at Norad, we recommend our “Careers” page.

Many colleagues and stakeholders of the aid sector visit Norad's many events every year; many in person and many following live stream via norad.no. The popular event calendar can still be found under the "News/Event" link.

Although informational content of norad.no is now new and updated, Norwegian aid history, in the form of Norad's extensive publications library of reports and evaluations, has been preserved and remains available under “Publications”.

– Fortunately, a website is never finished, says Dagfinn Fjelddalen. With a completely new platform in place, now we are able to make continuous improvements where we see the needs arise.
