Nepal and China: Enormous humanitarian needs

The flood disaster has claimed at least 1,250 lives. Norway is supporting the highly demanding relief effort with NOK 10 million from the humanitarian reserve, in addition to support through the UN and Red Cross emergency funds.

Norad - The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation

Norad is an administrative and specialist body for development cooperation and supports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Climate and the Environment in achieving the goals of Norwegian development policy and promoting sustainable development. The UN's sustainability goals, climate goals and human rights form the basis of Norad's work. Norad is based in Oslo and has around 320 employees.
