The Tax for Development programme is part of Norad’s Knowledge Bank. The goal of the programme is to enable developing countries to improve financing for national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals through increased tax revenue and a strengthened social contract. However, there is potential for a strengthened gender equality perspective.

Gender equality is a cross-cutting consideration in Norwegian development cooperation and should be integrated in all key initiatives. This involves looking at Norwegian experiences but also drawing on knowledge and experiences from low-income countries.
