Education Education is a fundamental human right and essential for the exercise of all other human rights. Energy Access to clean and affordable energy is a necessity for ending poverty. Global health Since the beginning of the millennium, a number of serious challenges to global health have been halted, and even reversed. Higher education and research All countries need academic institutions and capacity to educate their own workforce. Research contributes with new knowledge and practices. Macroeconomics and public administration Improved access to financial resources through development assistance is important, but it is not enough. Oil for Development The aim of the OfD Programme is to reduce poverty by promoting economically, environmentally and socially responsible management of petroleum resources. The programme is currently being phased out, and will be concluded in 2024.
