The call for proposals has two thematic windows:
Holistic Landscape Approaches and Ecosystem-Based Adaptation
Land use and land use change are major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Poorly managed land exacerbates climate change vulnerabilities and reduces the adaptive capacity of communities. Norad is seeking concept notes aimed at integrating existing initiatives in Tanzania and Ethiopia to foster sustainable climate resilience.
Innovative Climate and Nature Finance
Achieving the climate adaptation and mitigation objectives of the Paris Agreement, along with the biodiversity goals set out in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, demands a significant increase in financial investments especially in developing countries. Norad invites proposals for innovative financing solutions that support pilot initiatives or early-stage concepts, addressing systemic obstacles to financial flows and showing promise for replication and scalability. If geography specific, focus on sub-Saharan Africa will be given priority.
All applications must be submitted in English through the Grants Portal. Please read the call text carefully.
