Evaluation of support for increased transparency in land use, supply chains and financing through Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative

The evaluation will assess efforts made to improve access to data on forests, deforestation, and forest degradation.

Good and reliable access to relevant data, as well as systems and institutions for consistent monitoring and reporting, are important prerequisites for sustainable land use in tropical rainforest countries and reduced pressure on rainforests from the market. The evaluation will assess efforts made to improve access to data on forests, deforestation, and forest degradation. The evaluation will map the support provided, obtain experience from ongoing and completed projects and assess these efforts against the performance goal of transparency and the main objectives of Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative. The purpose of the evaluation is to provide knowledge that can contribute to further developing future efforts in this area.
