OrganizationGovernors’ Climate & Forests Task Force (GCF)
Total for 2013 – 2015:
12 000 000 Norwegian kroner
This project will contribute toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving the livelihoods of rural, forest- dependent people, and conserving biodiversity.
Through capacity-building, state-national alignment efforts, and cross-jurisdictional learning, cooperation, and collaborations, this project will empower subnational civil servants and their civil society partners to build robust subnational REDD+ programs, embed these efforts into larger ongoing processes of low emissions rural development and market transformation, and galvanize and provide structure and support for the broader emerging network of actors trying to make REDD+ and low emissions rural development work on the ground.
The primary implementer will be the University of Colorado Law School (GCF Secretariat), with assistance provided by key partners IDESAM, Kemitraan, IPAM, Pronatura Sur, and others.
