The ocean economy is important for the global economy

The report "The Ocean Economy to 2050" by the OECD analyzes the evolution, current status, and future prospects of the global ocean economy, emphasizing its crucial role in supporting economic growth, employment, and food security worldwide. 

The report recommends strengthening ocean governance, promoting technological innovation, expanding data collection, and enhancing the participation of developing countries to ensure a sustainable and prosperous ocean economy by 2050.
