Norad is hosting an open seminar with Sandra Milach, Chief Scientist at CGIAR - the world’s largest agrifood system research network.

For more than 50 years, CGIAR has been a global leader in agricultural science and innovation for development, working to transform food, land and water systems in a changing climate. With 15 Research Centers present in 89 countries, CGIAR unites governments, academic institutions, international organizations, the private sector and civil society to deliver action oriented research that improves lives and livelihoods worldwide.

Norway supports CGIAR financially and holds a seat on the CGIAR System Council, one of the network’s key governing bodies.

 

Sandra Milach is the chief scientist in CGIAR. In this role she leads CGIAR’s research portfolio, which connects a transdisciplinary network of scientists from across all 15 CGIAR Research Centers and engages with more than 3,000 partners.

 

At the seminar, Dr. Milach will present:

  • CGIAR’s new 2025–2030 Science Portfolio.

  • Partnerships and capacity development for strengthening global an national food systems at policy and practical levels.

  • There will be room for questions and a dialogue on how Norwegian stakeholders can cooperate more with CGIAR.
