Chief Operating Officer, PT Rimba Makmur Utama

Rezal Kusumaatmadja is the Chief Operating Officer of PT Rimba Makmur Utama.  He is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the Katingan Peatland Conservation and Restoration Project in Central Kalimantan.  Rezal also serves an advisory board member to the Climate and Land Use Alliance (CLUA) from 2010 until present.  Rezal holds a master's degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Hawaii and a bachelor's in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University.

Alex Noerdin

Governor, Provincial Government South Sumatera

Alex Noerdin has been the Governor of South Sumatra since 7 November 2008. Previously he served as regent in Musi Banyuasin for two consecutive periods (2001–2006 and 2007–2012). In the field of environment and forests he has been promoting a Partnership Model for landscape management , both at the High Level Roundtable Forum "Bonn Challenge 02" in March 2015 and COP 21 Paris  in December 2015.  His overall focus is to restore the landscape and control forest fires as part of REDD + activities.

Mina Setra

Deputy Secretary General, The Indigenous Peoples’ Alliance of the Archipelagos (AMAN)

Mina Setra is Deputy Secretary General of The Indigenous Peoples’ Alliance of the Archipelagos (AMAN). She is a Dayak Pompakng from West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The forest where she lived was converted to a palm oil plantation. She has worked on indigenous, environment and climate policy at the Indigenous Peoples' Alliance of the Indonesian Archipelago (AMAN) since it was founded in 1999. AMAN links 20 million indigenous peoples managing community forests and lands. In 2012, she and others successfully called for the status of forestland under the Constitution to recognize the customary forests of Indigenous Peoples. This was well known as Constitutional Court Ruling No. 35 on Customary Forests. Mina is also a founder of Ruai TV, a television outlet providing media access to marginalized communities in Kalimantan.

Nazir Foead

Head, Peat Restoration Agency

Nazir Foead was appointed to lead the Peatland Restoration Agency (BRG RI) in January 2016 where he is responsible for the restoration actions of 2 million hectares of Indonesia’s peatland within five years. Prior to this, Nazir joined Climate and Land Use Alliance as the Indonesia Initiative Coordinator in February 2014, to direct grants and support for Indonesia’s CSOs. He was the Conservation Director of WWF Indonesia from 2010 before joining the Alliance. Trained as forester and conservation biologist, he spent his earlier professional career from late 1980s in the interior of Kalimantan, Maluku and Papua running biodiversity assessment, learning from and interacting with the indigenous peoples as well as running investigations illegal logging.

Nur Masripatin

Director of Climate Change, Ministry of Environment and Forestry

Dr. Nur Masripatin is a Director General of Climate Change  at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry  in Indonesia. She was the Lead Negotiator of REDD+ in UNFCCC processes,  National Focal Point for REDD+ Partnership,  Deputy on Governance and Institutional Relations at REDD+ Agency,  Overseeing  a number of national REDD+ programmes including :  IFCA study on REDD+,  FCPF REDD+ Readiness Plan preparation, FREL development,  SIS-REDD+ development,  bilateral Indonesia-Norway on REDD+ for transition phase.
