The Gender Review methodology is part of Norad’s ongoing quality assurance and professional
assistance to MFA and Embassies. The purpose of the review is to assist the Embassy in Khartoum in
improving the efforts to promote women’s rights and gender equality (WRGE) within ongoing
activities and present capacities and to strengthen the efforts to promote WRGE in the policy
dialogue, through programme management activities, as well as in the Embassy’s own routines and
procedures. The Review covers the cooperation with North Sudan.

The Review has been carried out through desk studies, discussions with Embassy staff and
management, implementing partners in Khartoum and with Norad and MFA staff in Oslo.
