Myrna A. Safitri

Executive Director, Epistema Institute

Myrna A. Safitri is an executive director of the Epistema Institute. She holds a PhD in law, governance and development from Leiden University the Netherlands. She has been working on forestry legal reform in Indonesia since 1994, securing people’s rights on land and forest through REDD+ projects (e.g.: The case of forest gazettement pilot project of South Barito District, Central Kalimantan Indonesia).

Besides teaching at several Indonesian Law Schools, she has been active in influencing policy making on forestry and natural resources at several government agencies. She is also a coordinator of Indonesian CSOs on forest tenure reform.
