Beginnings of a major consensus around a concrete, zero-net deforestation agreement for the entire Brazilian Amazon by 2020

Out of the multi-sector dialogues in Brazil, emerged the beginnings of a major consensus around a concrete, zero-net deforestation agreement for the entire Brazilian Amazon by 2020.

This represents a first step towards realizing Brazil’s potential as a global leader to curb deforestation while remaining a commodity producing, powerhouse. Key companies in the soy, beef, and finance sectors are ready to sign on, supporting a stair-step pathway to zero-net deforestation in the Amazon.
