Webinar invitation: Evaluation of Norwegian support under the Nansen cooperation in the fisheries sector

The Department for Evaluation in Norad invites to a webinar on 27. March to present the findings from a new evaluation report commissioned by the department.

Bjørg Sandkjær, State Secretary Ministry of foreign affairs, Bård Vegar Solhjell, Director General, Norad , Peter M. Haugan, Policy Director, Institute of Marine Research, Manuel Barange, Director, Fisheries and Aquaculture Division and Merete Tandstad, Coordinator EAF-Nansen Programme, FAO will comment on the report and on the way forward.

Norway has a history of supporting long term cooperation between its government entities and their counterparts in partner countries. The Nansen cooperation in the fisheries sector is one such program, lasting for nearly five decades. This evaluation looks at the activities during the most recent period 2006-2021 where the goal of the activities was to contribute to reducing poverty and improving food security in the partner countries.

What are the prospects for its sustainability?
Where is the potential for improvement in future programming?
