Update on evaluation of concept notes: Norad/Climate and Forest Initiative funding scheme for civil society

By the time of the deadline, Norad received 625 concept notes that were qualified for consideration of support. Of these, only around 40 applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.

Because of the high number of concept notes received the assessment process has been delayed, and applicants may expect a reply to whether or not they will be invited to submit a full proposal by the beginning of September 2012.

Concept notes will be assessed on their overall quality, their relevance to the thematic categories and priority areas, their contribution to the NICFI objectives, the geographic focus, the character/type and demonstrated capacity of applicant organization and how they are considered to fit within the total civil society portfolio for 2013-2015.

About the funding scheme

Since 2009 Norad has supported close to 50 organizations in their work toward reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD+). In the coming funding period the support will be focused on a few areas where civil society will continue to be significant in driving the REDD + agenda forward.

The possibility to submit concept notes for Norad/Climate and Forest Initiative funding scheme for civil society 2013 - 2015 closed 15 May 2012.
