New call on NORHED

120 million NOK to NORHED with focus on Education and Quality.

As part of the Norwegian focus on Education for Development, improving quality in education is a top priority. Norad wants to encourage university collaboration on education and research with the aim to revitalize the learning situation for children, leading to improved teaching and learning.

Universities play an important role both to strengthen teacher education, pedagogical approaches and new knowledge about teaching and learning.

This call invites academic collaborative partnerships to strengthen education and research within key areas for education, such as pedagogy and teacher education.

The geographic priorities for this call are: Ethiopia, Haiti, Malawi, Nepal, Niger and South Sudan.

Applications should be submitted no later than 15 February 2016.

  • NORHED is Norway’s programme for capacity development for higher education and research for development
  • Norad is already supporting 46 NORHED projects within different area critical to development, such as education, health, natural resource management, governance and media. 
  • On education, NORHED supports projects focussing on special pedagogy in Uganda, language of instruction in Ethiopia, Mathematics Teacher Education in Malawi and ICT in Uganda.
