Grant agreements for Women, Peace, and Security projects 2022-2025
The four-year total budget for Norad’s WPS portfolio is NOK 88,6 million, allocated from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ budget chapter for Peace and Reconciliation.
Norad’s WPS grant scheme aims to support the realisation of the overall goals and objectives of Norway’s Action plan for Women, Peace, and Security through targeted initiatives led by international civil society organisations. The main objectives of the grant scheme are:
- Peace and reconciliation processes facilitate participation by women in all phases.
- When implementing peace agreements, steps are taken to safeguard the human rights of women and men.
In line with the Women, Peace, and Security Action Plan, civil society’s role in strengthening democracy, human rights and gender perspectives is relevant for achieving the overall goals and objectives. Accordingly, Norad’s WPS grant scheme provides support civil society’s efforts to reach the WPS objectives.
Four 2022-2025 grant agreements
Norad invited selected international civil society organisations with documented WPS project experience to submit grant proposals for Norad’s restricted 2022-2025 WPS call for proposals. The invited organisations were encouraged to present collaborative WPS grant proposals.
Norad received six grant proposals by the call for proposals’ due date, 20 March 2022. The six grant proposals received amounted to a total of NOK 149 million. Four of the grant proposals received were accepted for Norad support 2022-2025. Two grant proposals were not prioritised for Norad funding.
