Department for Economic Development, Gender and Governance
The subject areas of the department are economic development, tax for development, anti-corruption, public financial management, gender equality, human rights, development cooperation in countries in fragile situations, governance, private sector development and Oil for development.
The department administers grants, and provides technical advice to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassies and the other departments in Norad.
The section provides technical advice in the areas of human rights, gender equality, governance and fragility. The section undertakes project and programme reviews.
The section provides technical advice on development economics, tax for development, public financial management and anti-corruption, and is responsible for facilitating the Corruption Hunter’s Network. The section offers advice on the multilateral development banks.
The section provides technical advice in the areas of private sector development and job creation in developing countries, and administers grants.
The section is responsible for the secretarial functions for the Oil for development (OfD) programme, with the goal of assisting in economic, social and environmentally sound administration of petroleum resources.
