Seminaret er på engelsk.

Her følger en fyldigere beskrivelse av programmet:

With the world deciding on new global development goals and targets, a key question raised is how to ensure that the rights of young people are reflected in the post-2015 development agenda? And how can we ensure that young people are active participants and meaningfully engaged in the design and implementation of the post-2015 development agenda, as well as holding global leaders to account?

Time: Monday, March 24 at 16.30-18.00
Place: LNU’s office, Øvre Slottsgate 2B, 0157 Oslo

“Landsrådet for Norges barne- og ungdomsorganisasjoner” (LNU) and Norad invites you to join us for a meeting to discuss youth engagement and mobilization in the post-2015 process. We will be joined by Mikaela Hildebrand from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). She leads the UNAIDS’ innovative youth program established as a result of the bottom-up crowdsourcing project CrowdOutAIDS that consulted some 5000 young people around the world to take part in shaping the Secretariat’s new approach to young people. As an outcome of this process the UNAIDS Secretariat rolled out a broad scale youth program, a Youth Advisory Forum with representation from all regions and diverse communities, and the supported the establishment of the strategic collaboration A PACT for social transformation in the AIDS response joining up efforts of 25 youth-led and youth serving organizations. Collectively, these work streams helps bring the voices and perspectives of young people from national level into global forums, including UNAIDS, which builds leadership skills, strengthens accountability of global processes, and creates space for civil society in UN processes and discussions.

At the seminar, Mikaela Hildebrand will provide a short introduction on the youth engagement in the UN system, the UN Secretary’s system wide action plan on youth, and how the PACT with UNAIDS support has launched the global “social action initiative” ACT 2015! for country-level social action to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights and the HIV response in the Post 2015 framework. Then she invites the participants into a discussion on how Norwegian youth organizations have organizing to make their voices and priorities heard in a national and global context. How do Norwegian youth organizations collectively work to influence and shape the new development agenda, post-2015?
