A presentation of Argentina’s 10 years’ experience with Plan Nacer

Norad is pleased to invite you to a presentation of Argentina’s 10 years’ experience with Plan Nacer/Sumar. This results-based financing programme has gained wide international interest due to its impressive achievements. The programme, coordinated by Dr Martin Sabignoso, targets 10 million people, with low or no access to health services, mainly due to lack of health insurance.

As very few of its kind to date, the programme has undergone a rigorous independent impact evaluation, led by Dr Paul Gertler. The findings from this impact evaluation speak for themself.

Time: 21 May 2014 15:00 – 17:00
Place: Norad Info Centre, Ruseløkkveien 26, Oslo (6th floor)

Introductions by
Dr Martín Sabignoso, National Coordinator Programa SUMAR
Dr Paul Gertler, Professor at School of Public Health at UC Berkeley

«Plan Nacer has had a dramatic impact on the lives of Argentina’s poorest children by levelling the playing field and giving them a healthy start in life. The lessons emerging from Argentina, and other countries around the world, are that shifting the focus from paying for inputs to paying for results leads to better health care".

Keith Hansen, World Bank Group Acting Vice President for Human Development
