How the work is organised

The Norwegian Trust Fund for Private Sector and Infrastructure (NTF-PSI) is managed jointly by the World Bank (WB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), collectively termed the World Bank Group (WBG). The NTF-PSI Secretariat is organised under the Sustainable Energy Department and is responsible for the day to day management and administration of the trust fund.

The Donor

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides grant resources for the fund. The donor makes decisions on the strategic direction for the trust fund by giving early signals on overall priorities and provides directions in the process leading up to the open Call for Proposals, influencing the thematic direction of the Call. Thereafter, the donor approves the new yearly project portfolio recommended by the WBG and allocates funds accordingly. In addition, the donor monitors the progress and results of the trust fund.

The Secretariat at Norad

The Secretariat at Norad acts as an intermediary between the World Bank Group and the donor so as to enhance efficiency and quality in the dialogue between the parties. The Secretariat requests and coordinates input from experts within Norad and relevant communities in Norway, facilitates dissemination of studies, research and reports from the WBG, and takes initiative to seminars and other dissemination events. The Secretariat has an important task in facilitating the contact between the WBG and relevant Norwegian stakeholders in NTF-PSI related areas.

The Secretariat is located at Norad, at the Department for Economic Development, Energy, Gender and Governance. Gunnar Bøe is the Head of the secretariat, assisted by Hege Bakke Sørreime.
