Even though the world has seen general increases in health and wealth since the middle of the twentieth century, billions of people battle daily with diseases associated with poverty, overcrowding and poor sanitation.
Maternal, child and women's health
The Global Campaign for the Health MDGs was initiated in 2007. It was followed up with a progress report in April 2008. At the opening of the UN General Assembly in September 2008 the First Year report was launched.
