Shell's Geoprize 2009 awarded the Master Student from Timor-Leste

Shell's Geoprize 2009 was awarded the Master Student, Mateus da Costa, from Timor-Leste at the Geological Society 2009 National Conference in Bergen.

The Geoprize is awarded the Master student that presents the best findings. In 2009, Mr. Costa from Timor-Leste, who holds a Master in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger, was awarded the Prize.
Mr. Costa's Master is funded by Norad under the Oil for Development programme, as part of a wider effort to build capacity in the petroleum sector of Timor-Leste. Mr. Costa will return to Timor-Leste with the aspiration of making important contributions to the petroleum sector in his home country.

"I strongly believe that with the skills gain from my Master's I will be able to strengthen and fulfill the demand for human resources in the public petroleum sector in Timor Leste. I believe that with the skills that I hold will be able to contribute and play an important role in the Petroleum Explorations and Productions stages that are currently taking place in Timor-Leste", Mr. Costa says.
