Norway signs agreement with World Bank for the establishment of a Trust Fund to finance transmission grid development in Mozambique
On 9 September, the Norwegian Ambassador to Mozambique signed an agreement with the World Bank, for the establishment of a Trust Fund to support the development of transmission grids from several planned power stations in the Tete-province in the North-Western part of Mozambique. The Trust Fund is also partly to finance a transmission grid from Mozambique to Malawi. The Norwegian support is NOK 500 million and the World Bank will contribute with approximately USD 110 million to the projects.
