Ethiopia and Norway sign agreement covering feasibility studies on the Blue Nile

On 30th of November 2009, the State Minister of Finance and Economic Development of Ethiopia, Ahmed Shide and the Norwegian ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud signed an agreement that covers the feasibility studies of Mandaya and Beko-Abo multipurpose projects on the Blue Nile. The project’s overall goal is to develop reliable and environmentally sustainable power supply and improved living standards for Ethiopia and the region.
