Rahima Othman Njaidi

Executive Director, Community Forest Conservation Network of Tanzania (MJUMITA)

Rahima brings a combination of experience in community empowerment, environment and forest conservation in Tanzania. She has an extensive experience in working with the local communities in bringing the communities’ voices to the top of the agenda at all levels. As a lawyer, Rahima has been able to put her legal knowledge into practice by providing assistance to the local communities on legal issues relating to forest management in their areas. Currently Rahima is the Executive Director MJUMITA.

Rahima is also a member of the International Standards Committee on REDD+ Social and Environmental Standards. She is also a member of technical working group dealing with Legal, Governance and Safeguards. Recently, the Government has engaged Rahima to facilitate the process of developing Tanzania REDD+ Social and Environmental Standards.

Ms. Njaidi will attend Parallel A2 Tenure and land use planning – important tool for shaping landscape approaches to REDD+.
