Daniel Zarin

Director of Programs, Climate Land Use Alliance

Daniel Zarin is the Director of Programs of the Climate and Land Use Alliance, a philanthropic collaboration of the ClimateWorks, Ford, Moore and Packard Foundations. He is based in Washington, D.C. From 2008-2009, Dan was Senior Advisor for the ClimateWorks/Packard Foundation Tropical Forest Carbon Strategy, and from 2005-2008 he consulted for Packard on the development and implementation of their Amazon Carbon Initiative.

Dan previously served on the faculty of the University of Florida as Associate Professor (2000-2005) and subsequently Professor of Tropical Forestry (2006-2010). From 1995-2000, he was Assistant Professor of Forest Ecology at the University of New Hampshire.

Mr. Zarin will moderate Parallel C1 Information for Accountability: Capturing progress and lessons learned from efforts to improve the transparency in spatial data.
