Bastiaan Louman

Bastiaan Louman is a forester formed at the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands. He has worked for more than 20 years in Latin America, and he has lead the "climate change and watershed" program of CATIE since 2009.

His team develops tools and methods for the construction of climate smart territories with an emphasis on Central America, although they also work in Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile, supporting government and civic society in their preparation for the effects of climate change. He has been (co) author of several publications on the subject, specializing in the relationship between people, (agro) ecosystem services and climate change.
