Cooperation was requested by the Minister of Mines and Energy of Cote d'Ivoire in August 2006.
An OfD delegation visited Abidjan in summer 2008, and agreed upon a programme.
A Seminar on petroleum policy and resource management was then organised in fall 2008. The OfD cooperation programme with The Ivory coast includes, training in petroleum management, petroleum policy, revenue management and environmental management. Additionally, seminar on monitoring the different phases of the petroleum sector, petroleum legislation and regulations, training on technical issues and data management.
